Re: [alfa] spark plugs

Ethan,

You should have mentioned this earlier. I had similar problems with +4s in my Verde. It was easy to pin them on the plugs, since it got immediately worse when I swapped them in. I ditched them, and put in some Lodges and all was better.

I've never seen engines so picky about plugs as alfa engines. Or maybe I've never seen plugs as shitty as the Bosch Platinum series. Years ago I put the then new Platinums in my carb'd spider. Wow, did they suck, a set of el-cheapo Champions replaced them with much better effect.

I guess the real question is why in the hell did I ever consider buying Bosch plugs again?

re-valve, so there were too many other variables to eliminate). the
problem is that below 1500rpm (in first, 2000 rpm in 2nd), if i lay in
to the accelerator i develop a stumbling with very poor acceleration.
if this happens, i just pull my foot off the throttle, and slowly roll
back on. the motor "catches its breath", so to speak, and it goes
fine. above about 1500 i don't have this problem.

so, should i add the plugs to my (short) list of possible causes? if i
swap them, what kind should i put in? any other suggestions?
