[alfa] Testing "driving relay"

Does anyone know how to test the "driving relay" on a Spider (or know 
the symptoms of a failed one)?  I am guessing that this is the driving 
relay - it is about 1.25 inches square by 2.5 inches tall. Mine is 
black plastic cased, and sits under the injection control unit, behind 
the passenger seat. Molded into the case: BOSCH Steuerrelais 0 280 230 
001 (12V).
