I found that gentle use of a rubber mallet to be
useful for seating the gasket....

Chuck,
     I have just replaced my door seals and no glue is

required. The slot in 
the rubber seal "snaps" down over the lip. You have to

be a bit patient and 
make sure they slide down all the way onto the lip.
