Re: [alfa] Twin Spark conversion for Alfetta
Stefano.
Get a 75TS engine. The engine bay on the 75 is made from the same stampings
as the Alfetta. There may be some minor clearance problems but I can't
imagine anything insurmountable. If your car is a sedan not a GT then it
should drop 'straight' in (famous last words !).
I know the TS engine from the FWD 155 is different in capacity and
configuration to the longitudinally mounted 2L TS, and I believe the same is
true for the 4cyl 164 (N/A in Australia). Further, I believe there may be
some engine mount dramas and the dizzy is on the 'wrong' end of the head.
If it's an option for you, I'd recommend buying a 75TS donor car and using
the entire drivetrain. You will get isostatic gearchange, LSD, different
gear ratios, 5 stud hubs and ventilated front discs into the bargain.
