[alfa] shipping car parts

Hi, Benjamin.

I'm not sure what you're shipping, but I was able to ship a (reproduction) Zender body kit for my former spider from Australia to California and the price, while not trivial, was not prohibitive. I think it pays to shop around a bit. IIRC, I wound up using DHL, who were much cheaper than anyone else. For getting quotes, you'll want to have the size and weight of the proposed package available. I believe weight can also make a big difference, so if you're considering shipping an engine or transmission, that might change things considerably.

But I've read of a few people with European engines in the US, so perhaps someone else there can shed some light on their experiences.

And of course, this may not exactly answer your question, as it doesn't involve Germany at all.
