[alfa] RE: Engine interchangeability

I haven't seen a reply to your question so here goes. The Alfetta engine
will not just drop in as is but will require one helluva lot of work.
The crank is one thing and with that, is involved adapting the proper
flywheel for the clutch - check the drillings. We had to re-drill and
tap the holes in the nitrided crank ..  not an easy job. Then there is
the sump. We did this conversion for our Giulia Sprint GT and, in
retrospect, concluded that we would not do it again. Mind you, we also
lowered the engine by adapting Holden engine mounts to fit, replaced the
radiator to the later type with electric cooling fan and bottom mounted
thermoswitch ..  plus a dozen other mods, so ours wasn't just a
straightforward drop-in.
