Hi Johann:

I'd first look at the wiring, where it connects to the back of the gauges. One of the clues is that your oil pressure gauge reads full scale. The gauge will do that only when it is grounded. Perhaps some previous owner has reversed a few of the wiring connections on that gauge, switching the ground lead with the lead from the sender, and perhaps also connecting the sender lead to the light circuit. It may also be that some of the wiring is chaffed or compressed between two panels, becoming grounded. That's all just guessing, but I think it makes good sense, and is where I'd begin. Good luck. This is not likely to be a fuse problem, and the correct fuses (on a non-US '72) in your box should all be 8A.

Hello all,

New user. Bought a 72, 105 a couple of months ago and loving every minute of
it!  Other than when my fuel pump ceased (but thats another story)..... my
problem is this:  Everytime I switch my dashboard lights on, my volt meter
goes to zero and my oil pressure goes to it's highest reading. Can someone
tell me where to start.  Is it a problem with the wiring or a simple case of
fuses???
