If this is for minimizing the transfer of heat from the pads into the pistons during temp spikes (like momentary hard braking), you can use thin titanium or stainless steel sheet or strip (both have relatively low thermal conductivity). Try thicknesses from .030"-.090".
If you can't buy it in sheets/strip through an industrial supply house like McMaster-Carr, you can probably get free samples in a big enough size from Hamilton Precision Metals or Ulbrich Specialty Strip.
You may also be able to check out a local car dealer parts dept and get a set of shims that you can trim to fit. Some OEM's make shims that go in heavy duty braking applications. Some of these are laminated stacks of steel and an insulating material, and may work better than straight metal strip.
