Re: [alfa] Thanks, now what about my new hardtop?

Hi Elizabeth:

I'm still concerned that your new battery won't solve your other problem, but could very easily be wrong. See the further discussion in Digest 299, but in short, you shouldn't have to ever disconnect your battery to prevent it draining.

I also just bought a "new" used Pininfarina hardtop for my '87. Did you get the proper mounting hooks that mount to the rear deck of the car? I'm not talking about those little chrome "buttons", as those are for the boot cover. The hardtop hooks are actual hooks that have their opening facing rearwards and capture the 2 brackets under the top as you slide it forward. I'm picking up my new set tomorrow (~$30, from AlfaBill), so if you need a few digital pics, let me know and I'll send them.

Thank you everyone. I will get one of those gadgets for the battery. I
knew you all would come through. I am in desperate need of doing something
about my ac, it's not cooling at all and both windows won't always come up. By
desperate, I mean the cost will set me back. I took the car out for a spin,
with the new battery, and noticed that my new hardtop was making a lot of
noise. It seems to be bumping metal to metal or something. I had a friend help
me install it and I thought we did it correctly. It's an original Alfa
hardtop that I bought from a fella on this list. It's a beauty. Think it might
need a new seal or should I get an expert to look at it? Again, thank you.
