the top was the most miserable
rag I have EVER encountered.
George's description is right on. I had a bugeye Sprite, several years
newer than the XK-140 but no more evolved. I used to stow the top and
bows in the attic around Easter and got them back out around
Thanksgiving. I had a tonneau cover (remember those?) with a zipper
down the middle so I could open just the driver's side and drive like
mad to keep the rain flowing over the top of the "screen" instead of
landing on my head. Stoplights were to be avoided if at all possible.
