I installed Jacobs wires & coil on my Scout II, 345, Prestolite Dist.

What an amazing change for the better for a couple of weeks, then one day
while driving the engine starting running rough. UH OH!

Pulled the dist cap off and found that the (old original) rotor had
disintegrated and the dist spark was having to jump from the rotor part
remaining on the dist shaft to the dist cap terminals. Hmm.... strong
spark with much much power.

Replaced the rotor and all was well again.

FYI on page of 106 of Jacobs "guide to optimizing your ignition" is two
photos of a Scout II engine compartment in relation to heat mapping.

Usual disclaminer, don't work for jacobs.

I have seen several requests for dist info on the prestolite dist.

I bought my Prestolite dist from a boneyard, and went to the local
Navistar dealer for dist specs. A friendly shop foreman pulled out some
old IHC books and provided same.
