Epp,
Why not just leave that cover on? Seems like it wouldn't
cause any harm since the humps are so tall.
I've heard of this techinque, but I hear you need to make
sure you have a good gasket or else you fire the air right into
the system.

When done, just put your original

Curt, Tom,
I always use a nylock AND a lock washer. You can never have
those on too safely! Gas tanks, lights, bumpers, shocks, and
shackles.

Even the Nylocks aren't immune to loosening up. When I swapped
in urethane
spring bushings, I used Nylocks on most of the spring bolts, but
ran out and
used locktite on the last few. When I checked them about a week
later, the
Nylocks were almost off, but the locktite'd nuts were still
tight.

Tom,
If you ever remember your chemistry class in Jr High, or
High School, whenyou light sugar, you get a HUGE amount of solid
carbon as a by-product. Basically the flame breaks the bonds and
pure carbon comes out with gases. The carbon can coke everthing
up and clog valves and stick them open AND closed if conditions
are right. It may clog the carb too. I'd drop the tank a swish
10-15 gals through there 1gal at a time till it was clean.
Good luck, and can you please tell us (for those who have
forgotten) how this whole thing started?, then I'll tell you how
my friend lost his '76 FJ-40 almost the same way.

And, BTW, what "happens" when sugar'd gas hits a motor.. I've
been told it
seizes, but.. how about why?

Thanks everyone!

Hey everybody, would there be a market for a brake caliper bolt
that instead of a dart/nipple fitting it had a schrader so that
you could have a bud pump the brake and you just have to push the
schrader in to bleed them, instead of open and close the dart?
Lemme know,

Subject: Brake bleeder check valves
I ordered a set of the brake bleeder check valves and plan
on installing them on my 1200B. (I got new wheel cylinders too)
The original ones had rusted themselves to the old wheel
cylinders and would not come loose. I'll post what it will be
like to bleed the brakes after everything shows up and their
installed.
If you haven't tried the BinderChat room on the Binder
Bulliten web page on Wed. nights, you don't know what your
missing. I've joined in the past two Wednesdays and have enjoyed
it immensly. Rick and Ken Boyer are a hoot! Enjoyed talking to
Tom Mandera too. (Hope things went well in court today)
