Re: [alfa] clutch disc salvage
Hi Greg;
There are places that can re-line clutch discs (as well as brake shoes and
pads), and you may find one listed in your local Yellow Pages. They'll
need to know the original thickness of the disc, and perhaps its intended
usage, to select a suitable material. It's been so long since I had one
done (on my ex-XKE) that I couldn't guess the cost, though. About 20 years
ago I had a set of 105/115 e-brake shoes done, too, and I recall that was
~$20 for the whole set.
Regards,
Dean

Subject: [alfa] clutch disc salvage
Digesti,
I've taken apart an engine which apparently suffered a blown-out rear main
seal. The clutch looks brand new, but it's evident that the disc was
thoroughly
oil saturated. Just curious: once this happens, is the disc trash? Thanks,
Digest.
