A fellow Alfisti mentioned he has a good source to reproduce the shiny /
dull 1750 / 2000 air box ID plates. There is a fair amount involved.
First the correct type of material must be sourced, a good example of
each original also sourced, silk-screens for each design made, acid
etching the metal to achieve the correct dullness, corners cut and
finally holes drilled (or stamped).
Obviously the more of each "size" ordered, the (somewhat) less each
would be.
Is it worth our effort? Email if you have a serious interest, which one
and what it would be worth to you to have a pristine example of one or
the other, or both.
No one is planning to get rich off this project, but the Alfisti
involved has experience with this process and knows it is doable.
